Bike Recycling

Before….
This is an example of a bike that I’ve restored. This is the picture before I’ve done anything to it. It’s in a bit of a sorry state and feeling quite neglected. The previous owner had decided to try their hand at repainting the bike with matt paint. So I painstakingly cleaned the paintwork up using methylated spirit, and a lot of elbow grease to get the graphics back to their original condition. After the main framework was done, I replaced all of the brake and gear cables and brake guide pipes to get the mechanics of the bike working properly.
After….
As you can see the paintwork has been restored to it’s former glory and ready to ride again. What a difference some TLC and some replacement parts can do. Which bike would you go for if you were shown these two photos? I know which one I would go with. It can make such a difference if you are wanting to sell a bike to give it a really good clean up because you will sell it a lot easier if it is looking clean and cared for.
